How can Europe make mission-oriented research and innovation policy more effective, inclusive and impactful in addressing complex societal challenges?
As European innovation policy continues to evolve—from the Societal Challenges approach under Horizon 2020 to the current generation of EU Missions under Horizon Europe—there is a growing need to reflect on how missions are designed, governed and implemented.
At the Social Innovation Mission Facility, we see social innovation as a strategic enabler of mission-oriented policy. Social innovation brings societal engagement, collective learning and system change into the innovation process—elements that are essential for tackling complex transformations and strengthening the effectiveness and legitimacy of European R&I policy.
In this upcoming ESSI & SIMF webinar, we will explore how social innovation can become more closely integrated into Europe’s goal-oriented innovation policy.
🎤 Featuring contributions from:
🔹 Jürgen Howaldt — ESSI | Opening & introduction
